Attitude

by William Mae   Nov 21, 2016

If your day should start off dreary,
Count your blessings not your woes,
Look around at those who love you,
There's your treasure and your gold.

Time is ticking, life is moving,
Not one second should we waste,
Grab memories worth the keeping,
Hold to love, let go of hate.

I love the message in this poem. This flows so nicely with great rhyming and gets your message across in such a short and wonderful write that everyone can get something from. This is really nice.

William this is very thought provoking and is rather inspirational as the others have said it's much easier to concentrate on the bad things in life but what we have to do is remember that it's only a bad day, week, month or year not a completely bad life even if it feels like it at the time. We have to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and move the f on whilst leaving the past behind or atleast the bad memories.

1: So true we should count our blessings because it's not what we have but who we have fighting our corner; that's the real gold and all that should really, truly matter.

2: Time stands still for no man, woman or child so what we have to do is make the time we have matter, make good memories, spend it with good people and most of all live the life we would want for our own loved ones.

    Fantastic write. Nominated.

Wise words indeed. I believe that someone told me once that it takes more energy to hate than love, so based on the environment, we should save energy and release smoky old gas gusling hate and instead, streamline and go for green love.

Its funny how when things go wrong or we feel the worst the bad and the negative things are the ones we always tend to think about rather then the good and positive which surrounds us.

Yes time is ticking and instead of lamenting we should count our blessings and move ahead, do more good and be more optimistic!

Glad to see that you have posted a poem and that too with a good message!

    William,

A very worthy sentiment. Often, we concentrate far too readily on the ills of our lives but forget or refuse to see the many positives that may be there also. And as you say, life is too short to fall into that sorry trap.

    Well written,

    Ben
