Demons

by Beautiful Chaos   Nov 21, 2016

I have demons
But he doubts them
He doubts me
He doubts how dark I really am
How much pain I have inside of me
What I want and could do with it
He doesn't see that I am a monster too
And i love him anyway

Seems like ages but you've actually been here all along.
I love the twist of irony at the end. You build up a modest threat, a warning as it were, about your capacity for violence. At the same time you depict yourself as a Cassandra whose warnings go unheeded until doom descends.
Then the final line blows the whole premise away and you walk away with a smug look on your face.
    Well done indeed.
