The Hunt

Title - The Hunt

Our love was reaching at new heights
but unexpectedly she disappeared;
leaving my heart solitary.
I rambled for her with wet eyes.

Melancholy seized my soul.
Thousand times I dried my tongue
calling her name in the wilderness.
But it turned out to be a waste of time.

Then one night, I saw her in the woods
and a chill ran down my spine;
She was half human and half zombie;
Grabbing an human arm with her teeth.

I knew she would invade the hamlet
as she was not in her own control.
Slyly I took out my gun
and ceased my beloved wife's heart forever.

Eventually, I understood why she left me;
because she loved me and didn't want to harm me.
I hugged her strongly and sobbed for hours,
"I'm sorry, forgive me."

    I actually felt myself getting cotton mouth as I read this. When words can invoke physical reactions I believe I've truly stumbled upon a great piece of work. Thank you for writing this. I very thoroughly enjoyed reading it!

    Augustus,

    This is excellent. I was thoroughly intrigued throughout. A really original little piece that captivates and also conjures some wonderful imagery.

    I may sleep downstairs tonight...

    Take care and all the best,

    Ben

      Thanks a lot for the comment, Sir. I personally like this poem because it holds great sadness. The wife knew she would soon convert into zombie, so she flew away just to save her love, her husband. That's called true love.

      All the best.

      Ha!ha!Ha! ... Ya! Sir you can sleep wherever you want.

      Thank you very much. Ya! it's a true love. I like this poem a lot as it contains both darkness and love. I think I have grown enough to understand the true meaning of love.
