Perfect

by Savannah Hunter   Nov 30, 2016

She was perfect.
Like a ray of sun; she lit up every room she walked in.
She was beautiful;
Like a delicate rose, waiting to be nurtured.
Loved.
She was precious.
Her smile was rare; you were lucky if you got to witness it,
But once you did you couldn't help but smile back.
She was shy.
She sat in the back of the room and did her work quietly;
Only asking a question every now and then.
She didn't need the attention.
But everyone in the room always watched as she walked by.
She was the perfect mix of lovely and beautiful.
She was the diamond in a bucket full of rocks, but she didn't know it.
She was everything everyone else wanted to be.
The ladies envied her and the gentlemen admired her from afar.
But she was bright and happy even when she cried at the end of every night.
She always smiled through tears,
Laughed through the pain.
Always seen the bright side of everything.
She was perfect.
And he loved her.
Dear god- did he love her.
She was everything he needed.
She was more than the light in the dark;
More than the diamond in the rough.
She was the air he breathed.
She was every pump of blood going through his heart;
Keeping him alive.
When he couldn't see any light;
She was the mysterious glowing ball;
The one that guided him
Back to the safety of her own heart.
She was perfect in every way.
His mind raced with a million thoughts;
A million things that he wanted so desperately
to say to her.
But whenever his chance came around;
His heart would beat so hard it hurt,
Making him forget how to speak.
He needed her light to guide him;
Just as much as he knew she needed his love to heal her.

To be continued..
