Throwing Sparks

by Aegis   Dec 13, 2016

Familiar fires smoulder throughout
my mind-
Could I have left a match
still burning in the corner of your
bedroom?

Or did you leave a lit cigarette
in my breast pocket as I turned to
leave?

Either way it seems like we are
both burning,
smoke signals pouring from our mouths.
