Winter doldrums

by Brenda   Dec 15, 2016

I feel as of late
restless of life-
it has created an inertia
of movement,
which has created
a conundrum of backlogged tasks
that stare me in the face
each day.
A myriad of possibilities
just slip through my fingers.
Not unlike trying to capture
a moonbeam-
sleep eludes me until those wee hours
of morn
when the assault of noise
in the form of my alarm
begins to ping at my brain,
rudely trying to roust me
from the cocoon I've spun,
in hopes of staying there until spring-
winter isn't even officially here,
yet I feel this way now.
These are dark days indeed...

    Hi Brenda,

I like this one especially the cocoon thing. .. it's like you just like to wrapped yourself like a chrysalis and soon to be a butterfly after all the hard days. ..

Thanks for sharing... sometimes I feel like this too. .. just want to stay all day inside my room....actually in my sister's room when I'm sad. ..

    well done

Oh to bury deep beneath my winter duvet, not to surface until Spring birds call me, tempt me to take. Peek at them on my window sill.

Michael, I like where you are going with this-perhaps a write in your future??? I'm beginning to think we all would like to hibernate. Take care and stay warm!
