Listen to me darling...

by Meika   Dec 17, 2016

Listen to me darling you don't want to be like me, caught between a blade and a place of misery. This life's alot to swallow so don't even take a sip. Bad memories leave me hollow, like a dead tree limb. So listen to me darling you don't want to be like me, cause my life's a sad story like a horror but more gory. If you truly wanna know me look at my scars and not my face, I've worn this mask so long I'm not even sure it's fake. A smile to mask the pain, a laugh to hide the shame. Just be you, cause this is MY life and it's sad but true.
Don't hate me cause you're perfect...

Meika, welcome to the site and well done on a sombre write. I guess as Ben says many people on this site will be able to relate to this somewhat and I am one of those people unfortunately.

Some great rhyming throughout. I feel that we should all be ourselves if we can be and not take on someone else's persona as nobody truly knows what someone else has been through but I think the final statement of someone hurting you because they're perfect is somewhat untrue because even though we may feel someone is perfect no one truly is.

    Kudos on a good write.

Meika - a very warm welcome to the sight.

This is a very sad first post from you but there will be a fair few people on this site who will relate and understand your position.

I suppose we all wear masks to some degree, but obviously, some hide much greater pain than others.

Well written with some fluent rhyming.

    All the very best,

    Ben
