Short-circuit

by Aegis   Dec 17, 2016

Raindrops crash down relentlessly-
Each splash covering my skin with
miniature kisses of
lightning.

My steps are static.
Sparks bounce off my shoes and skip
untouched across the wet
pavement.

My soul is voltaic-
Yet my mind is sapped and I am begging for an
outlet.
