Toll to Nowhere

by Larry Chamberlin   Dec 18, 2016

When we first met I was your fare,
for you were taking me for a ride;
dumped all my emotional coin
into your guzzling meter,
but it wasn't enough to get
even to the next honest corner.

    Larry, this is really well done- it's so true how some people just take. THey will suck the life and soul right out of you-

    Though short this was a really touching read. It sucks when we have so much faith in a person that short-changes us. Good write, thank you.

    Oh, Larry, I have been here many times; although I presume this is not about romantic love. The toll metaphor of having to pay for what you want/ need with emotional money is a good one. Answer, what to do when your money is gone, or nearly gone? Find a ride that'll will give a coin for every coin you spend.

    Well done, a good 'food for thought' write.

    Take care,

    Larry this is very, very deep. When we meet people who take and take and take some more instead of giving out a little at least it drains us of everything, I've been there and it's horrible.

    All the best and I will nominate this when I can.
