Sun and Moon

by Marc Ortiz   Dec 24, 2016

The moon illuminates my dejected eyes
My life has been lonely, cold and dark.
No one was there for me except for my sister,
She was the light to my starless existence.

I was like a blind person looking for a treasure
It was futile and siphoning my life away.
But there seems to be an invisible force,
That felt like magic that guided me to it.

And there I saw a light above the clouds,
Just like the sun - you gave me warmth and happiness.
When your glow is gloomy I promise that,
I will be the moon and will reflect the light you gave me.

It is better to walk in the dark place with a friend,
Than to walk alone in the light.
Until the end of my life I promise,
That you will be by my side as a brother.

Because since I was small innocent child,
I have always wanted to have a brother in my life.
But then I realised that friends,
Is a sibling that God never gave us.

A lovely poem, Marc and that line really is superb. How very true it is.

Well done and all the best,
