Can you imagine sending your child off to school and him not coming home in the afternoon? It defies comprehension. The most 'benign' things can often be the cause of so much tragedy and heartbreak.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Michael. Well done.

Really is shocking and to think you send kids to school thinking their safe, no where seems to be anymore.

You weren't kidding about the shocking part-how awful! I can't even begin to imagine losing a child, especially like this-

Mr D, firstly I would like to say that I had heard about this on the news and was shocked it saddens me that things like this can happen. Personally, I think this 'accident' or whatever they are calling it should be thoroughly investigated.
Title - people often say this and I thought it would be about something different but it links into the piece nicely. And you're right it has a lot to answer for.
I like the way the piece is made to look like a coffin and I must say a few tears crept out because this could definitely have been avoided and my heart goes out to his family. Also, you say so much in such a short piece that I think nobody else could have.. The use of idle hands is most definitely appropriate!!
    Take care ,

Ok...this is my first comment made on the new p&q :)

The message is very strong..don't leave a little child unattended even for a moment, that's all it takes for a small live to be snuffed out. The picture portrayed is quite horrific but probably very accurate..the widening eyes...ugg. Idle hands I'm wondering about...would this be teachers having a fly smoke behind the sheds when they are supposed to be supervising? Not sure because the link doesn't say and probably won't.

What I found distracted was the +'s there was just too many of them IMO...especially in the actual lines of the poem...just my thoughts of course.

This is every parents nightmare..they send their child to
school knowing their child is in good hands but it shows the
carelessness and unsupervised moments...a terrible terrible
    and heart breaking situation.

I agree with Hellon about the crosses but then when I sit back
and look at it it comes out as a concrete poem...like a cross or
like a coffin with a plaque ...as I see it.

    A heart wrenching write..
