    Ren,

Is there a more exciting feeling in the world than this, I wonder? Yes, if you jump, you may just crash and burn...but what if you soar?
    This is excellent. Nominated.

    Take care and stay well,

    Ben

Thank you so much, Ben! I really appreciate that! :)
And you're right...with toes curling on the edge and eyes searching the distance for the bottom...who's to say there isn't something absolutely wonderful waiting for the one who jumps? One can only hope the fall will be worth it.
Thanks again for reading and I hope you're doing well!
      Take care!

What an absolutely true, wondrous piece. To be on the verge of a big plunge is great but we have to take so we don't feel regret when things go wrong.

Oh this is so good! I can actual feel that thrill of taking just one step forward, into the unknown future! Really a leap of faith.
You painted that picture so well using such simple, lovely words.
    Great write. :)

The decision to move forward is mild compared with your short tribute to taking on life with gusto. I love that you present the expectations, then the hope then the crux of the daunting choice: is love and life worth the risk?

    "Here we are
    Standing on the
    Edge of
    New beginnings"

This just grabs me. It's beautifully written. The whole poem is powerful, short, but powerful. Keep writing Ren!

    Hey Ren,

I really like this write, you said a lot in a few lines and said it with a really strong voice.

As Larry indicated to take on life is one thing to do it with gusto is freakin epic ( paraphrasing just a smidge lol)

But it is the WAY this is written which is what i really like, the layout of the piece makes the reader absorb whats being conveyed and make it much more tangible and real.

    Great write!

The simplicity of this poem is stunning, because it has a deep message and it could also have a different message for different people and that is what i love about poetry.

I feel like this person is at a crossroads at their life and they are starting over in someway. I do love how you say on the edge people that kind of where starting over is. But i think you used it as a metaphor here. That new beginnings are a scary thing as is looking over a cliff. Then you say fingers intertwined. So that tells me a new friend, or a new love even and love is one of the scariest things out there. But if you take a chance and it works out then it is grand.

I love the ending because i take it as being spontaneous in a way. You are diving (or in this case jumping) headfirst into this new adventure. Overall the poem is great because it tells a great story. Well done.

Thank you so much, Jamie!! I really appreciate you taking the time to read and comment. That's what I love about poetry, too, is that people can have completely different experiences and take from it what they want and what resonates with them the most. Thanks again so much for reading!!! :)

Ren, this is simply beautiful and it resonates with the soul within. We all come to that point when all we have to do is jump. Great write.
