The Train

by Domenico Sottile   Feb 11, 2017

The train goes forward
cities grow larger and
children grow older
in front of our eyes
life goes rapidly by

We leave each other
and get together once more
The past links itself to the present
a word is set against another

If it weren’t for the green color
of the fields and meadows
one would die of pain
one would say that all
is madness

Our embrace of love
begins our embrace of farewell
and with the farewell
the train departs once more
