A day in the life

by Brenda   Feb 27, 2017

I roll awake
my body reminds me
of a my middle age aches,
my day has begun...
-
I wash, I dress,
I put on my face,
running out the door
to join the race,
the rat race that is...
-
Tappity, tap, tap,
my fingers attack
that blasted keyboard.
Not allowing to slack,
I slog and log
my way through the day.
Working so long,
the sun goes away...
-
Finally at last
the work day has ended.
I join the throngs,
some driving all wrong,
on their way to their
humble abodes...
-
Once back home
my honey and I, alone.
Comfies are donned,
dinner is supped.
Finally a chance to sit back
and ask; "what's up?"
We reflect on our day,
the stress eases away.
The hour turns late,
it's never a debate
to fall back into
that bed with you...

Awhh. That's so sweet. The little perk at the end of a monotone day. I love this - that there's always something to look forward to - and that you'll always find comfort there in him. Very sweet, Brenda :3

This is super sweet, Brenda! I absolutely love it!

Nothing like the typical daily grind...early mornings, work, and traffic with awful drivers...(where I live, we say if you don't have bad road rage then you must not be paying attention to the road, lol)...but to finally get home and relax with the one you love must be truly remarkable, and make any frustrations from the day simply disappear.

    Fantastic job! :)

Ren, thank you so much. I totally hear the road rage lol. People drive like idiots around here. I do look so forward to coming home.

Super write here, Brenda. A day in the life showed me how important it is to have that special person to come home to. The day to day slog really is a bind, but just knowing that you an unwind and ease into soft slippers and arms makes it all worthwhile. *smiles*

    Brenda,

A rhyming piece of poetry! How could I not like this one?
A tale excellently told of the way each and every day can feel like a slog, but at the end of it, there's always a cuddle and a...well, nevermind.... with the person you love!

    Great stuff,

    Ben
