Tell Them

by Mark Rawlins   Feb 27, 2017

Tell your son and tell your daughter
Tell them blood's thicker than water
Tell them stories, tell them lies
Tell them they have their father's eyes
Tell them resentment, tell them guilt
Tell them contempt for the house they built
Tell them wrong, don't tell them right
Tell them to turn and not to fight
Tell them pity, tell them greed
Tell them shit in their hour of need
Tell them breath and tell them life
Tell them the serpent wields the knife
Tell them your baggage and tell them your views
Tell them the scars don't fade, they bruise
Tell them love, then tell them pain
Tell them the wheel has turned again
Yes, tell your son and tell your daughter
Tell them to do the things they oughta
Tell them blood's thicker than water ....
Tell your son and tell your daughter.
