Still There

by Scrittore   Mar 3, 2017

When all you have left to do
Is the last thing that you want
And your life falls apart
Your soul has no song
When you simply can't find the strength
To continue on each day
And even to take a breath
Is more than you can take
When your beaten down "in love"
And your character is changed
A decade worth of connection
Now burned, destroyed, estranged
When everything that you are
Is all that you want to be
And when that's not good enough
You set yourself free
When you walk away from it all
And it hurts more than you can bear
Remember, self, remember
It hurt when you were still there

A thoughtful and well rhymed piece that flowed beautifully.

Well written and all the best,

    Ben
