Free breakfast

by StonedGooberz   Mar 7, 2017

Thunderstorms brew outside my morning window
promising me another warm day in the shop
I treat my job like a workout because there is no break
for 12 long hours I'm not going to have the chance to stop

Work out music with my morning breakfast
as I check on my kid to see if he still sleeps
I wonder what his life is going to be like
as I go outside and start my jeep.

2 morning cigarettes and a lip full of chew
as I find my way to my spot within these gates
I wish I got paid per axle that I made
instead of just the profit I create

This is the last paycheck before bills are paid
the next 3 weeks is money for my son and me
sometimes I miss my old hopes and dreams
but I have to raise a son to set him free

    Ditto to what Em said.
This is very sweet...and shows how much you love your son...working hard so he can be happy and have a good life.
    Beautiful.
