To Melt

by Ben Pickard   Mar 8, 2017

Mountains copiously capped with
veneers of snowy wonderment
precede the palpable thawing
of my wilting heart.

Below the treeline, she waits...

gleefully, spitefully, depravedly -
jaws ajar - as the meltwater meanders
unnervingly towards her waiting gullet.

    "Mountains copiously capped with
    veneers of snowy wonderment"...

    -Pauses. Takes a moment.-

Whew...forgot to remind myself this is a BEN I need to be prepared!

-Takes a deep breath...and starts over.-

My thoughts reflect most of what everyone has already kicking butt and being the amazing writer that you are! This poem is just absolutely lovely and the imagery is breathtaking!

    Take care!

As someone who spends most of his free time on rivers and lakes this appeals to me on more than one level,

    Fantastic work
