If I'm Honest

by Britt   Mar 10, 2017

The truth stops at the tip of my tongue
and I can't help but let it linger there
unable to bring myself to let reality
shine it's light -
It's cruelty, I know,
to let feelings fester on the verge
of heartache.

But how can I ever tell you?

This poem grabbed my attention from the very start, most poems fizzle out after that but yours stayed strong to the very end. The title is strong as well which adds to the impact of this emotional piece. Much has been conveyed in this short but well-constructed poem. Well done

to let feelings fester on the verge
    of heartache.

^^More then feelings that causing the heartache its the
truth which is failed to be known causes more pain. Sometimes
we like someone too much that we try to protect them by not
telling the truth but, it will hurt them more and you when they do
come to find out that you have known yet failed to say.

Honesty is a bigger responsibility and burden then just
been responsible for something...hope that made sense.

    Congrats on the win :)
