If I, would you?

by Dill   Mar 17, 2017

If I placed a rose in your hand,
Would you make me a ham-sandwich as your return?
If I gave you a box of chocolates,
Would you make me a cup of coffee ne’re to spurn?
If I went to the theater with you,
Would you reward me with a smile?
If I went out and bought a beautiful shirt for you,
Would you always repair my textile?
If I gave you a pamphlet saying I will love always and ever
Would you put on sweatingpants ever never?
If I always made sure to fix your broken things,
Would you give me a kiss and root for me,
No matter what fate brings?
And if I swear to never laugh at you when I should,
Would you take the time to read the books that think I good?
If I disturb the furnish when you ask,
Will you never remove the sheets and not replace,
And more, If on the weekend I do all you wish of task,
Will you always be at the entry with a shining face?
If I be you knight in shining armor,
Though I’m now really just a rhyming farmer,
Would you always be my soft and beaut’ful woman,
So I might greater be your only strong and worthy man?
