The Silent Room

by TheDarkCloudBehindthePoet   Apr 4, 2017

Everything fell silent,
the cold floor pressed against my skin gave me goosebumps,
sitting in a pool of emptyness,
drip drop,

Breathe in breathe out, there you go you got it,
close your eyes and focus on your breathing, good,
now open your eyes and look down,
drip drop,

The feeling of anxiety leaving my body brings my temperature down,
but the beads of sweat remain,
My eyes seem out of focus when I try looking down,
drop drop,

What's this new noise I'm hearing?
must be the air in the vents,
Time to get up,
drip drop,

I'm paralyzed,
what's this I'm feeling on my finger tips,
its thick, moist and runny,
drip drop,

Finally I'm able to get up but my body is weak,
how long have I been down there?
Again I feel something thick, moist, and running down my fingertips,
What's this new noise I'm hearing?
drip drop.
