Silence Creeps In

by CJ Maleney   Apr 20, 2017

A silence so deafening
It echos all around.
There's is no ticking of a clock
The complete absence of sound

When the activity has ceased
When the voices fade away
You sit there in your cocoon
You start to fade away.

The time when your alone
when you're mind twists and it turns
You measure weigh and calculate
You hate these thoughts,
They are held in scars and burns.

You know that it is not healthy
It is not pleasant and can not nourish.
The flower dead, the soil poisoned
Nothing here will flourish.

But close your eyes. Look inside,
And let your mind flow free
Open your arms and fill the void
Dance and sing, it's what you used to be.

The silence all around you.
Is it really what you want?
Do you slowly fade to nothing?
Or do you sing, dance, cry and love?
