Sound of Silence

by Tony   May 9, 2017

I wish you would yell at me
Scream and call me names
I would stand with arms wide open
Basking in the flames

I wish you would talk to me
So we could work this out
But I am alone in silence
And I must go without

Instead your shoulder's cold
You chose to ignore
I am a wave, you the rock
On which I break upon the shore

Your silence is deafening
And I wish that it would end
But I think that it is permanent
The sound of a lost friend...
