To Write a Poem in Seconds

Blank paper and a pen
Words scribbled within the space
Of a second after a second-

Ink kisses the palm
Of the sheet and love was
Made by two in that instant.

In between lines
A thought slips as
The second splits.

It is that:

To write a poem in seconds
Is an art
At which I never falter.

But.
The art of forgetting you
Has taken me…
Forever.
