secrets

by pmmurphy   Jul 11, 2017

secrecy spoke volumes to me at night
whispering in my ear
it soaked and dreamed and confined
to every little darling tear

it dripped down my face
and spoke of my age
in places most might forlorn
for here comes the cage
and secretive new page
the diary, written of frivolous lore.

so as it read
and swept away with dread
i knew of days to pass
for the diary
forsaken wings fly past hirelings
of thought of darkness to encompass

for secrecy spoke to me at night
whispering in my ear
it soaked and dreamed and confined
to my ducts and dried up tears

and then i thought
for time had brought
people around endearing near
but the table
wasn't lit nor able
to keep me focused here

and then a time
soaked in rhyme
where articles lay loose
was when i found out
that all i need is to shout
out the whispers of secrecy's noose

so had come a time to tell
for people all around
my secrets created this horrible hell
as i am blinded and bound.

Patrick goes rhymed and my, oh my, every piece just keeps getting better as time goes by. :-) One word again, WOW!

I love the sentiment in this one! I love the repetition too! I see you slay them rhymes.

Okay, I know the beautiful Lady and I have a habit of doing this, lol, but I absolutely agree with her! And I could not have said this better myself. This really is such an excellent write!!
