The Devil you Know

by Tony   Jul 14, 2017

I often sit alone at home
In the darkness of my room
I ponder, plan, and plot
By the darkness I'm consumed

Fantastical fantasies
Forming figments in my mind
Beyond blanketed blackness...
Barely breathing I am blind

Vicariously vexing voices
Break barriers they should not
Nefariously unnerving thought...
These voices are all I've got

Theatrically in tandem through
My thoughts they emerge
Threatening my sanity as
These curving corridors converge

On a dark and dismal pool
Concealing creatures down below
I dare not risk its depths...
Better the devils that I know

The consonance, the way every line rolls off of the tongue... And leads you deeper into the dark. I love it. Well done again bro.
