Dad

When the light goes out, in his eyes
Grey flat jelly stairs blankly
The shock, indelibly engraved in my mind
A game changer!

When my babies are born
My world, never to be the same again
Writing an invisible script into my life
A game changer!

My second chance, another bite on the apple of happiness
Brimming over; my own pot of optimism
Knowing that all things are as they should be
I am at piece
A game changer!

Painful; joyful;
The mantel of me, covering my coming of age
Hind sight, foresight no matter, “I am me”
Excited and scared, I face down yet another chapter of ‘me’
A game changer!
