Awesome poem but I'm not a fan of the last line. Those rights and wrongs u speak of make us who we are the good and bad. To truly appreciate the good times we must see some bad. So in every life no one is perfect saying that no ones life is a crock of shite as u have said. We're all special all unique and were all loved and created by God. Ur story ur road in life might be tough but u my friend you are as special as the next one of us. U have a great talent and a great mind that is special, so don't cut yourself short for ur journey in life has created that in you....God bless

It was 20 years ago, much has changed since. Can't even remember where my head was at back then. I do remember what events inspired the poem though.

This is one of a whole bunch of stuff I've had stuffed in a drawer for years, gradually trying to type em up. Once done I'm gonna burn em.

Thank you for your comments they are very insightful and gratefully received.

      Regards

I can read your youth between the lines, and I especially love the part where you wonder what should be an old man's dreams...it gave a really deep feel to this.

....and when you look back at it now you can see how much you
have gone through and overcame it all making who you are today.
Its that feeling when regret grips yet you keep reminding yourself
"I've made it this far...and will not repeat"...take care

I can relate to this poem.
This thing happens to me like in every 10 years.
I recall everything I have done in those 10 years and it is necessary because it really helps me to keep myself, my actions on the right track, but still life is life. We can't control it, somethings go wrong. No matter how much we wanted them to be right and we have to face the consequences too. So my friend everyone of us has their crock of shite hidden somewhere in our mind.
