Blowing hot and cold

by Michael   Aug 10, 2017

Clouds; collude for a stormy charade
thunder; echoes a grumbled demise.
The Whitehouse; turns an ashen shade;
blanched from gloomy and greying skies

Humidity bears; down heavily within the air
Moisture dampens moods; upon a crown
Hot-heads; perspire from hand-ruffled hair;
trickling and sizzling through chinks in a frown

Voices break silence and whispers crack
Lips quiver words from a powerful force
Turning to allies and our Union Jack
Schooling its nations; on a chemistry course

And what if the heat; turns to an icy chill?
twitchy fingers; become brittle and shiver
hovering a button; that settles the bill
Mankind; drowned in acid-filled rivers!

We cannot measure; the worries of war
by images of those; who wear a long face
and what is hidden behind a closed door
or witness a winner of a nuclear arms race.

All we can do is that hope peace resumes
Keep our hearts beating with faith and love
and will not be subject to toxic fumes
And the bitterness clears from up above.

      Thank you Miss Mel
      Yes it's a very sad piece, but we always have hope for anything in life. It's what makes us humans. Wars settle nothing...all that settles are more grave!
