scattering seeds

by Britt   Aug 14, 2017

She sweats and bleeds and oozes
goodness from her soul,
planting seeds
and burrowing them in the earth

and it's when she whispers to herself
"don't allow your heart
to faint",
yet it does, with painted words
drawn apart from breaths -
she tiptoes on her line
every time

she thumbs over the dirt
and her hurt,
mindlessly grasping onto the land
in a plan she never drew -
mapped out for her,
yet she never knew
how to live her life in rows.

    and so well structured

Britt this is just so beautifully crafted. It's a great challenge to wear a smile consistently isn't it?

Britt, a heartbreaking write for sure. I love the way you write. You put it out there and it's raw and powerful and full of you. I really appreciate your ability to be so you. I hope that makes sense? I really loved this-

What a true compliment as I crave authenticity from others, that you would see it in me. Thank you!

Britt what another fantastic piece by you not that I expect anything else really, I look forward to your works because they're always so profound and resonate with me on a level of "I'm not clearly sure why but they do"

The title I would say drew me in but I'd be lying because it was just top of the recent poems page but I'll say this - my first thought was why are you scattering seeds, are you feeding the birds (no joke) then I read on and I was blown away by how intelligent the title actually was

The content itself in my opinion is raw and heartwrenching because we all promise ourselves we won't let someone hurt us again, only a small slice of cake or 1 bar of chocolate and usually we do get hurt again and don't have just a small slice of cake or 1 bar of chocolate because life is made for living and I think if we didn't take the plunge then we wouldn't know if something is truly for us I guess is what I'm trying to say - maybe I rambled abit but it was my initial thought process.

As ever a mind blowing piece.
