Time Will Tell

by C Cattaway   Aug 15, 2017

You said you read my poems.
Well, read this. You really did
Act like you are the only one
Who hurts. You're not a kid,

You're 50. Why are you so mean?
You think you have the right
To say the things you said to me?
Did you just want to fight?

It didn't work. I'm sorry too.
But I can't take or lie
Just so that you can have what you want.
So why should you try

To make me hate you? Don't you have
A single ounce of shame?
Is that how much you hate me too?
Those things you said were lame.

You're trying hard to start a row,
But you don't have the facts.
Not thinking before speaking?
I thought you were done with that?

I hope you have a good life.
I don't know why you were mean,
But I had trusted you. Now you've
Become the past, to me.

I cannot forgive what you said.
But still, I wish you well.
I hope that you forgive yourself.
But only time will tell.

I would like to say the same things. A strong write, too!
