Just Doing Me

by Tony   Aug 31, 2017

All I can say is get out the way,
Make way for the new me
Blow away the expectations
Of the people who think they knew me

Start today change the play
Rewrite the lines for the true me
Life's been rough I've had enough
Feel like time's been running through me

Aged prematurely, almost thirty
Hellish fertilizer grew me
Flighty'n flirty made me surly
Lied to and tortured so unduly

Pain in my chest and so depressed and
Angry that she fooled me
Learned my lesson pains been lessened
For the situation schooled me

Pick up the pieces smooth the creases
Infatuation won't unglue me
From this point on I'm moving on
My past will no longer rule me

Whoa! Reads like my message to self, just change she to he, haha. When you rain, as the Sorcerer says, we rain with you. Nice one here, Soldier.
