why we love

by pmmurphy   Sep 1, 2017

1

droplets
seem to ankle me
to the ground i swim

lesions to the world around
puddles damp yet
easily evocative

where i like to drench my coat
that i hang dry.

The rain falling, sweet scents blowing in the breeze, the feeling of knowing suns will come and shine on us soon, but for now we go in the rain, go passing by nature while it blooms, watching it flourish as love does at this time.

2

frozen, the once drench coat
now an icicle
where i laid my hands down one more time
to feel the snow.

riddled in questions where
building my father
with his corned nose
only reflected the want and desire
for company.

A cold is everlasting and bitter, seeming to last forever, wishing that the eternal bliss of the heat would overcome the snow but never to succeed, the snow will stay, having buried the fruition of the past, all memories of the warmth we had, and soon the solstice shall come and pass to start a new.

3

lands around
dry on lines that we loved
the lines that kept our father's figure stable
but we let him melt.

What was blossomed, now falling, dying, becoming no more, the cool air will grip hold of us while we go on our own once again through the rain, the weather ever fooling us on when the time will pass again, together in mind while the harvest takes bounty.

4.

now i bake
in lands of tomorrow
because my past entails
kept me floating

adrift on ideas that
i too understood what it meant
to wear shorts outside
and cut the sleeves off my jackets.

it is times like this where i only
shake the cold,
because i seem to love the heat.

Heat beams down as we bathe at the waterside, letting ourselves soaking in the warm water that keeps heat from the rays we enjoy so well, let romance embark the night while time progresses the love that once blossomed will be just a memory.

5.

As we let the sun die, where lines seem to drench on the attics that we kept dusty. We only know the reasons to keep drenching, keep drying and keep moving. That is why we love, this is why we live.
