In Between

Here upon this shelf I sit
I've journeyed to a thousand places
So many pages still unwrit
I'm yearning to fill up these spaces

I've soared to heights above the ground
Witnessed things that stole my breath
I've gone so low I've kissed the ground
And longed for something more than death

My binding is so worn and cracked
My paper wearing thin
Though I've become an artifact
I have yet still more to spin

So welcome to my story
My penned insanity
Twisted allegory
Come explore my fantasies

Though my sheets are not eternal
We can forge a tale brand new

For this novel is not finished

Though imperfect, undiminished
