Aegis another profound piece of writing by you which I have come to expect. I'd say the title drew me in but I'd be lying because it was the last posted thing I'd seen when I had a spy on the site lol.. but it did intrigue me I wondered how you'd speak with statues as they don't move let alone speak however does it mean you're speaking to yourself or should I say sick of doing so? Because I know I am haha anyway there's so many ways this could go just from the title in my opinion which is fab in itself as it makes people guess before even opening up the piece itself.

I love the first word her because it shows you've been through hardships and even if your smile is 'marble' thus in my opinion being there for some time through all the pain and heartaches are being shown through the cracks of this smile which is a very sad but powerful image. The stare is also a powerful image and makes me question what are you staring and why..

    aphasic.

Love this word though I haven't heard it in some time anyway what an image you put out there of this person who has been able to take pain standing there with a smile on their face regardless staring into the abyss unable to speak but not dumbfounded and why might I ask?

Well, I'm guessing this ending is why even though I think there's a lot more to it. Fantastic work!

How short may this poem be, it carries so much weight! I love how your message was carried across with 19 words. I can interpret it in many ways. :-)
