An Old Song

by ddavidd   Sep 20, 2017

I do not seek revenge
for the killer of my father.
I do not need blood
to be shed
in sacrificial rituals
of such sanguinary furies.
I do not hunger
for the slaughterers of my brethren to be slaughtered.
I do not want the tyrant of my nation
to be murdered
I do not want any pointless pain.
But I do want
the cruelty,
the slaughtering,
and the tyranny
to die.

It is not the singer
it is the song
I am

It is not the singer but the song I am after.
Now this line is going to follow my thoughts for some time.

Ìt is about the fantastic movie " The singer not the song" l reversed it to make an equal great point. Poetry in its bigest portion, is the very act of observation. And that observation sometimes includes: seeing, things at the same time, they are, they are, also not.
