becoming better not bitter

by Em   Sep 24, 2017

I think I've proved myself to you
by showing you:
that you can trust me
what real love is
how far we've come as a whole unit
and as individuals too

but sometimes I wonder
if it'll ever be enough
if I'll ever be enough

because like you I was made to question everything
even myself
by those monsters

years later

our abusers linger on like bad smells

controlling our thoughts

if only we were stronger back then
we wouldn't be in this mess now

questioning our love for one another.

The past prevents even the happiest relationships and hearts
to doubt and cloud the positive side of it all. As hard as it is try
to lock it away and throw the key rather then locking away a
    perfectly good relationship.

You have penned this with a heavy heart, the way it is spaced
out and with simple words used it feels like you are having a
conversation with the reader...touching write...take care

This is hard to read but I get it.
But don't allow the past to make you question what's in your heart ... if it feels like love, for however long or fleeting, then it is love. Big hugs x

Yes if only we had the strengths back then, to change what lies in our future, it may well have been all different and we would have gained the necessary tools to deal with situations better.
But our past experiences are reality and all we have are learnings to help us educate ourselves with situations.
However no one deserves to live with being wounded from past torments.
a piece that resonates and my heart goes out to you.
    Much warmth

    Michael :)x
