    Hi Scittore

I have to disagree with this one, I feel that we do make decisions and not always the right ones. they may seem right at the time, but later in life they can become the worse decisions.
So don't feel that happy endings are always from decisions to how we live our lives, it depends further down the line, along with any knock-on effects.
We always try to choose the best way in life, but unfortunately it is not always a fairy tale ending. Its my reading critique opinion, all said in good heart :)

    Hope this makes sense
    Michael :)

      Hi Michael,
Thanks for your comment. I understand how on the surface you may interpret this short poem that way. As you referenced, I am all too familiar with decisions made that you later regret, particularly now as I go through a divorce. In separating from my husband, I felt like I failed, that there would be no "happy ending" for me. What I learned is that's not true and the great thing about life is you get to keep writing. And hopefully as you get older and wiser you know more of what you want and possibly have a little more control. For me... my happy ending is in loving myself and sharing that with people who can accept me for who I am. I will continue to write my happy ending by choosing to dwell on the possibility of the future, rather than the pain of the past.

      Make sense?

    Hi Scittore

I absolutely respect your message, and it is from your emotions and feelings. Poetry is written from the authors perspective, and open to the readers view.
Now that you have allowed me your story, it does make sense :) however I read from my perspective which is why I commented as I did.
I see this through my eyes and my feelings, which in my experiences has not always turned out this way. But again Scittore, this is the beauty of poetry, and its good to have views of feelings.
This is why my comments come from the heart, and in no way judgemental.
I hope this too makes sense, and thank you for sharing your broader picture :)

    Much love
    Michael x
