On a Red Rose

by ddavidd   Oct 5, 2017

If you stay here a little longer
I would do nothing
but
listening to your heartbeats,
I would be nothing
but a butterfly sitting on the read rose of your lips,
a brooch
pinned to your chest.

If you stay here a little longer
there would be nothing
but you,
I,
would be nothing
but you,

silence would become so abysmal
that the whole world
would only listen
to your heartbeat
in me,

every living thing
would hear their palpitating heart,
every undulating thing
would learn its pedigree,
and its end
in my silence!
