The Rain

by words2myself   Oct 6, 2017

The rain lashed against the window washing
away the memories I had of you the wind blew
the leaves off the trees setting them free just
like all I had ever known or knew
the dark clouds in the sky floating as a pale moon hides
within only parting briefly for a moment as if to
open a door that lets the light of a weak sun
shine a beam of light inside that dances with
the shadows on the walls before my attention
turned once again to the rainfall

Lovely alliteration and internal rhyme. The lack of punctuation is a nice touch too - it leaves the text to speak for itself.
