When Water Freezes, Hearts Will Melt

by Ben Pickard   Oct 9, 2017

As I make this voyage home,
Of you, I do implore:
Do not think once that you're alone -
'midst every cloud I soar.

On snowflakes and in drops of rain,
My eyes still burn and shine;
In every golden barley grain,
The nourishment is mine.

So when the candle's flame retreats,
And when the darkness falls,
It's in the ether we will meet
And break these ghostly walls.

When water freezes, hearts will melt,
And yearn to be as one.
I now find life in what death dealt
And thrive beneath the sun.

    Great work Ben, with my Faith I staunchly believe that true love lives on even after death as our Souls and Spirit's are immortal. Your poem plays this out beautifully, a typical Ben work indeed!

    This is a melting write, Ben. It melted my heart because this is a sad piece but with a heart-warming end. Beautifully rhymed too.
