What I like here is the change in mood from the pain to this line..
"I find peace in simple things like sunsets or the warm breeze"
Lovely poem, you took me on that emotional roller coaster!

Thanks mark. It was an emotional rollarcoaster for me myself, but I’m getting off.

Bt, I loved the way you started with a sad tune but end on positive thinking.
That you are strong now, you have learned how to fight his absence and how to shed his skin and make yourself whole once again.

BT, I hope someone nominates this (I am out) as it truly is an inspirational piece of writing and a fine lesson to anyone who feels low: things do get better, we just have to keep keeping on and the sun will shine again.

    All the very best,

    Ben

Thank you Ben! I find that some of my best pieces happen to be about myself, and the struggle of finding and loving me. But I’m getting there!

Clichés are always clichés for a reason ... and 'time is a healer' is so true here ... this is a lovely poem that depicts that awful process really well :-)
