Writing, Not Losing

by C Cattaway   Oct 18, 2017

I just keep writing lines of words.
They're not even that good,
Yet they're the only way
My jumbled words are understood.

I make it to the page, in black
On white pages so clean.
I bleed my heart & cry my pain
To fathom what I mean.

The depths of darkness in my soul
Cannot be reached this way,
So I keep pouring out my fears
In hopes I'll fill the day.

I try to keep my fingers occupied
With writing these
Because I worry if I don't,
I'll do something to appease

The frustrations within my chest,
To still the butterflies.
The anguish rolls aggressively,
And mental thoughts arise.

So I need to keep writing words
Until it all makes sense.
For if I don't, I worry that
I'll lose more than I've meant.

I agree with Ben you are much better at writing than you believe you are. Writing is a way of pouring out the darkness. Milly x

Writing is all so many of us on here have. Keep doing it; it obviously helps and you do it much better than you say you do in the first stanza.

Take care and all the best,
