Dear lord.

Dear lord
Here I am on my knees praying.
Tears flowing uncontrollably it’s getting hard to see.
Blurred vision has me losing faith in thee.
I’m blessed to be alive but who I am I feel as if you thought twice.
Mistakes I do has me losing sleep.
Up all night laying down but I can’t catch any zzzs.
My nightmares haunt who I once was to who ill be.
This world is dangerous no doubt you see.
Yet to fix the world around me means I have to sin in order for others to succeed.
I’d rather give it my all for others to find happiness in this sad economy.
Use to being broke I’m use to having nothing.
I rebuild but in the end I’m tumbling.
I’ll never give up it just isn’t in me.
Lord what I’m asking is guidance for my friends and family.
I’m asking for them to smile and truly be happy.
Give me hell for them to succeed.
Give me fire for them to chase their dreams.
In Jesus name amen. Thank you for hearing me speak...

    Although our religions may differ (Muslim), it's nice to see some poetry about it - especially one so sincere in a world that's slowly forgetting what religion is.

    That aside though; I really liked this. It may not follow rules of syllables, structure and blah blah, but the rhyme is there and it's beautiful. It's heartfelt and deep and I believe that it hit me harder than others because I've been doing the same thing you've described here for a while now. Here is something I read that sums it up nicely:

    "And therefore will the Lord wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will He be exalted, that He may have mercy upon you: for the Lord is a God of justice: blessed are all they that wait for Him" - Isiah 30:18
