Trust Again

by C Cattaway   Nov 10, 2017

My head is filled with words that I
Cannot sort in to sentences.
My heart is full of love but I
Do not know how to mention this.

I try to be as I should be
But I cannot keep hiding
The feelings, when I look at you,
From this cloud that I'm riding.

I sometimes catch you looking, and
I don't know what I'm seeing.
I hope you're learning to let go,
Not thinking about fleeing.

I know my insecurities
Are something that you fear,
But I have tried to rein it in,
So you'll let me stay here.

Your walls were fit for purpose, but
I'm not sure how I'm meant
To scale them, only you can give
The key, with your intent.

I waited until you could see
That you were worth the fuss,
And now I hope that you and I
Can really be an us.

And so, my head is full of hope,
Yet cautious, all the same,
Because I wish like crazy that
You'll trust in love again.
