Dying Wish

by Maher   Nov 13, 2017

Dear Lover:
death has come for me: I fear
the darkness of the years I've lived.
So many fruitless wars I've seen;
so many countless tears I've streamed.
With all that's done, I leave alone -
dear lover, hold me 'til I go.
Your face: my angel's light in life;
your eyes: the bluest of the skies.

My little darling:
oh I know.
I'll miss you most, of that I'm sure.
Always stay by mommy's side
and try your best to ease her mind:
for you're the coolness of our eyes
'til past the closing of our lives.
So baby; comfort her for me
and be the one to dry her tears;
for the only certainty we have
is Death - who takes us by the hand.

My loves: learn to carry on
and love each other when I'm gone.
I'll be lost but for a while;
we'll meet again in Heaven's smile.
