Star Of Marie

by Mark   Nov 13, 2017

I behest a star that caught my eye;
be true from afar, shine - shine brighter in the sky!
If thou-st indeed the star I pine
meet not this bar, I bid thee bye.
For one such glow was promised me;
by lips of woe, the rosehip tips
of my dearest Marie - gone is she
for cancer gripped her from me.

Lie not specter in the illuminate night
though no hector, I plead - plead that sombre be slight
for if thou art the collector I need
Nyx would light thee with might.
On death's door, vows were uttered off key,
of words I adore - echoed by birds,
that my dearest Marie - will now and ever be,
starry girds for my eyes to see.

Aware now stellar that I'm in mourn?
A troubled dweller; I seek - seek the heavens that sworn
That perhaps thou art least bleak, then let this heller, mend a heart so torn.
For her husk laid idle as life seeped from she;
the rasping bridal - left grasping
'twas my dearest Marie's, last moments with me,
a teary bridle - over her I be.

Oh night lighter, who dost she wore?
Though I'm no brighter, I pry - pry to find whom I adore,
let thoust witness this yearning cry;
that this writer, glance upon the star she bore.
For her lids closed as a setting sun in me
Hairless she posed - dreadfully airless
was my dearest Marie, beauty at sea
forever prose in my heart - she be.
