Seventy

by Kitty Cat Lady   Nov 17, 2017

Now you're *ahem* seventy
You're wise but never old
Here's something that I made for you
A knitted hug for when you're cold

A craft you taught me as a child
Not one I'll ever forget
Sweet memories in the learning
In my mind a nostalgic vignette

With each stitch I thought of you
Your whole story to now
The good, the bad, the downright sad
You've survived it all somehow

I can't be there but snuggle up
I'm stitched into every row
I wish you Happy Birthday
You are hugely loved you know!

**for my mum who's 70 today ... I knitted her a blanket :-) **
