Save Me

by Matt Carroll   Nov 18, 2017

Alone, so alone, for all my sins, I atone
I need a hand to lead mine, a light to be shown
A voice to speak the words I so desperately need to hear
"You don't belong trapped in solace, let me show you, my dear"

Afraid, so afraid, that my soul bare be laid
My thoughts all exposed and my truths all betrayed
A spirit so broken, a man that's been shattered
With a mind that's been lost and a heart that's been tattered

Distraught, so distraught, by the lessons life has taught
These tears in my eyes seem to shine all for naught
As the light becomes dim and my fears become real
I understand now hope is pointless for what I'm longing to feel

In need, so in need, of those eyes that can read
My soul crying out to be mended and freed
Please help me, I'm lost and pleading to be found
Before it's too much to bear and I rest in the ground
