Oh I'm so emotional
My boy now more like a man
On his 17th I should be happy
And I am, I really am

I'm so thankful that he's here with me
It was more than we dared hope
But also I feel very strange
Unnamed emotions threaten to choke

I'm prouder than I thought possible
My love for him bigger than my heart
If I named all the ways he's special
I just wouldn't know where to start

The memories of his birth are vivid
And he kept up guessing for years
Whether he'd even survive or not
But he allayed all our fears

Now here he is, bigger than me
Full of life and always laughing
I'm crying with relief and love
My gratitude everlasting.

    Ah! Miss Kitty

Your boy is coming of age, and what a lovely tribute piece you have written about him, and reading the content, there is a far deeper story. But you have captured this wonderfully, from a true mothers heart

    Much love
    Michael :)x

My mother feels the same for me. She always feels proud about the little things I do in daily life. Like, getting good grades in studies or do good in other activities like sports. Recently, she knew that I wrote poems too.
She almost cried after reading the poem, little bird, I dedicated to Andrea.
So mothers are always like this, have so much caring nature for their children.
To be honest, we need this care while growing up. My mother has saved me countless times from strange things that could have happened to me.
It didn't happen because my mother was there to protect me.
This poem reminded me of my mother and about her love towards me. Very emotional piece.
